Submitted for 21Grams’ DN&D Awards

In response to 21Grams’ brief, Bloom is a tablet-based, co-operative game developed to help connect parents with postnatal depression. Play as customisable rock spirits known as 'Trolds', who wish to bring a forgotten garden back to life. Featuring meditative gameplay and a natural, painted style.

Character Development:
Mood board for the style of Bloom, referencing art from Studio Ghibli, Sky: Children of the Light and Aimee Cairns.

Exploring potential environments for the characters and style, taking photography from a local allotment, and taking artistic methods from Studio Ghibli, Aimee Cairns, the game NAIAD and Goatsiyah.

Inspired by the allotment photos, the final level design is a greenhouse compiled in Photoshop and animated in After Effects.
